Tech Hiring Freezes Shouldn't Deter You from Learning to Code.

And yet, you’ve probably heard that tech companies have reduced hiring, initiated hiring freezes, and even laid off workers.

So you might be asking, “Is it even worth trying to break into tech at this point?”

Good question. I have another:

Where did all those open positions go?

Those positions are still needed, but they are being shelved until the economy shifts again, and it will.

This is because a lot of tech companies benefited significantly from the conditions created by the pandemic, which peaked at the end of 2021.

Instead of growing their revenue by 10%, 15%, or even 20%, many were growing at 50% or more, with the average being 29.5%.

For comparison, tech was growing at 30% when the dot-com bubble burst at the turn of the century.

So as those conditions created by the pandemic continue to return to normal, a correction was bound to happen.

The difference between then and now is that tech companies today have better business models that actually create value for people and thus generate revenue, instead of riding on the bandwagon with new internet buzzwords and empty speculation.

Despite the market correction we’re experiencing now, tech companies are still experiencing 20% revenue growth.

The tech hiring freeze is going to melt.
