Bootcamp Requirements Update
Last Updated: October 21st 2024
So you’re thinking about joining a Nucamp coding bootcamp? That’s awesome! Before you begin, there are some requirements that you should know about. Don’t worry, they aren’t too complicated! Here’s what you need to know.
Basic Admissions Requirements
First, you must be computer literate and able to study, write, and speak in English. To check that, you should score at least 80% on two quizzes. Don’t worry, they’re totally free! Here are the links you need to access the quizzes:
- Quiz #1: Test your computer literacy
- Quiz #2: Test your English
If you’re interested in either the Web Development Fundamentals bootcamp or the Back End, SQL, and DevOps with Python bootcamp, you just need to show that you meet the basic admissions requirements. That means you need to score at least 80% on each of the two quizzes mentioned above, and meet the requirements listed in our Catalog (18 years or older, etc.). Just take the two quizzes mentioned above, and you’re good to go!
Front End Web + Mobile Development or Full Stack Web + Mobile Development Requirements
But, if you’re interested in the Front End Web + Mobile Development or Full Stack Web + Mobile Development bootcamps, then you’ll need to take Nucamp’s Web Fundamentals course first. Alternatively, you can take three quizzes on your own to prove that you’ve got what it takes. You’ll need to score at least 80% on each of these quizzes:
The quiz results are for your own reassurance that you are ready -- you do not need to submit test scores to us. If you’ve scored at least 80% on each, then you can skip the Web Fundamentals course!
For the Cybersecurity Fundamentals bootcamp, there are no specific requirements. You should know the basics of using a computer, for example using the mouse and keyboard effectively. If you have been using a computer (PC or MAC) for less than a year then you may not be ready to join this bootcamp.
Finally, if you’re thinking about joining the Job Hunting bootcamp, there are no specific requirements. However, we do recommend that you test yourself here before enrolling to make sure you have a solid foundation in web development.
To sum up -- these requirements are designed to make sure you're ready for the bootcamp and will get the most out of it. So, be sure to take the assessments and courses as needed, and prepare to rock your Nucamp bootcamp!
If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to the advisor team at Nucamp. They’re always happy to help you on your journey to becoming a skilled web developer.
You're still here? Go ahead and take those quizzes, enroll in the courses you need, and get ready to start your coding journey with Nucamp!
