Introducing the Back End, SQL and DevOps with Python Bootcamp

Earlier this year we sent out a survey to all of our students and graduates asking if they could have 1 new bootcamp offering from Nucamp, what would it be?

The 3 topics we were considering were 1) Python, 2) Design, and 3) Data Science.

We weren't surprised when the overwhelming respones were for a Python-based bootcamp.

We didn't delay and we're pleased to announce that the first bootcamp, which is invite-only, will start on August 9, 2021 and registrations will be open to the public in September.

Why Back end with Python?

  1. There is high demand for back end Python developers
  2. It's lucrative for aspiring developers
  3. We are regularly asked to offer it.

It's also a fundamental building block for learning data science so it makes more sense to offer it before we offer a data science bootcamp.

The Back End with Python Bootcamp is ideal for people who are passionate about understanding what it takes to design and create applications, connect them to databases, and bring them to life on the web.

What will you learn and how will it benefit you?

The Back End with Python bootcamp will begin by teaching Python programming fundamentals, the most common language used in data science fields, and how to use data structures and algorithms to solve problems and perform tasks.

Learning this fundamentals will give you the foundation to learn any programming language in the future, which will help you remain knowledgeable, relevant, and valuable in the fast-paced and ever-changing technology fields.

You will grow in your understanding of data modeling techniques and approaches as you learn the Postgres flavor of SQL, the most popular database language worldwide, increasing your ability to hit the ground running wherever you get hired.

The Postgres version of SQL was invented by data scientists at UC Berkeley and is widely used, readying you to expand your learning in the growing and lucrative field of Data Science.

You'll strengthen your understanding of programming fundamentals and data modeling by building your own apps with Flask and Django.

You'll be able to present yourself to potential employers as a team-minded developer by learning how to operate in a team through the Software Development Life Cycle, how to deliver code changes with the Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery operating principles, and how to deliver applications quickly by following DevOps philosophies.

When it's time to publish, you'll learn how containerize your applications using Docker so that you can separate your applications from your infrastructure for a faster and more secure delivery, which companies look for in their web applications.

And finally, you'll learn how to publish and manage your applications on not just 1 but on the three biggest cloud providers in the world: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.

No matter who is hiring and no matter which cloud provider they use, you'll be able to speak to your understanding of each and maximize your chances of being hired.

What opportunities are there for back end python developers?

Right now is a once-in-a-lifetime season of opportunity where the demand is exceedingly high for back end Python developers, the number of applicants there are to fill those positions is insufficient, and learning the knowledge and skills to become a back end Python developer has never been so accessible or affordable.

With over 44,000 open positions for Back End Python Developers in the United States at an average salary of $126,499, now is the time to make a life changing career switch to back end development with Python.

Sign up now for our Back End, SQL and DevOps with Python Bootcamp.
